Standing in Solidarity with the People of Israel

Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas stands with other Reform Jewish congregations across the U.S. and around the world to condemn the attacks on Israel Saturday, October 7.

Statement from the Reform Movement

On this Shabbat Atzeret Simchat Torah morning, the day after the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, our North American Jewish community woke up to the horror of Hamas’ brutal assault on Israel with hundreds wounded and at least dozens murdered. We stand in complete solidarity with the people of Israel, so many of whom are directly in harm’s way, and pray for all those who are defending the State. And we pray for the healing of the wounded, redemption for those captured and comfort for the many bereaved. All people of conscience must stand in solidarity with Israel. We continue in our resolve to support Israel (https://www.templeshalomnwa.org/2010/01/resolution-on-israel-temple-shalom-board-of-directors/) and stand united in support of Israel’s legitimacy and right to defend itself against physical and other threats. We pray for healing and comfort for all those affected.

  1. Praying for Israel.
I stand in unity with Israel
My savior, priest and king is Jewish.

  2. Hi folks.
    My name is David.
My heart is broken by the unspeakable horror unfolding in Israel.
I have always supported the Jewish people. God’s people. And I’m praying for them almost constantly. Through tears.
I was hoping to get my hands on anything that displays the flag of Israel. Preferably a lapel pin or t-shirt.
I want to publicly show my support. 🇳🇮
If you could help me I’d be very grateful.
    I live here in Fayetteville.
    Thank you very much
    David M. Lawrence
May God Bless And Protect Israel.
    ❤️🙏🇳🇮

  3. I would like too learn more about the Jewish Religion. I stand firmly for the Jewish people and Israel. Praying for them every day.
Where would I go to attend Jewish Temple?

  4. My name is Mike Cline. I have joined an international Christian prayer group of 1400 members dedicated to supporting and praying for Israel and all Jewish communities. International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, founders of this prayer group, is calling all Christians globally to stand up for G_d’s chosen people. Christians are joining Jews in many major cities around the world to show solidarity in seeking divine protection, especially for the hostages and the IDF in Israel. If any events are planned in NW Arkansas are planned to stand publicly in support of Israel, please let us know that we may join you.

  5. Praying for Israel. My heart is broken from the devastation. Our God is faithful, loving and true. I pray that He intervenes in this time of war and that Israel is triumphant. I pray for strength, hope and unswerving faith to the people of God.

  6. I just want you all to know that I (and hopefully more in NWA) stand with Israel. My Savior was a Jewish carpenter and I love and support His Jewish brethren. If there is anything that I am able to do for your congregation please let me know.

  7. I stand with Israel and the Jewish people! I have no religious agenda but I think the Jewish community is pretty amazing and progressive. You bring light to the world while others bring darkness. I think you have a lot of support in NWA so I hope my small message helps.
