Fulfilling Needs Locally

  • Northwest Arkansas’ Main Supermarket ChainsWalmart and Harps — all carry a few kosher items in each store year-round (look for international/Latin, gourmet or special diet sections), but some locations have a wider variety than others. Walmart Supercenters and Whole Foods have seasonal displays of kosher-for-Passover items but check carefully as most of these stores jumble among them their year-round kosher choices.
  • Variety of Kosher Products from Europe are available at European Gourmet of NWA at 1149 W. Walnut St. in Rogers (hours on Facebook). They carry some kosher products that have been imported from Europe. You will be sure to find some unique treats.
  • Kosher Grape Juice (Knudsen brand) is available at the Ozark Natural Foods Co-op. Check the label, because Knudsen makes both kosher and non-kosher grape juice.
  • Kosher wine — A wide selection of kosher wines is stocked by Liquor World, 3330 N. College Ave.
  • Kosher meat can be obtained from Chabad of Northwest Arkansas (Rabbi@JewishNWA.org). Be sure to contact them in advance to check on availability.
  • Bagels — There are many places where you can find bagels of all kinds, including all supermarkets, if you call those bagels! Actually, though, Einstein Bagels has a couple of locations in the area. Rick’s Bakery in midtown Fayetteville sells them as well. Just west of Fayetteville is Briar Rose Bakery & Deli in Farmington. Panera Bread has two locations in the area. One block north of the Fayetteville Square is Little Bread Company, which also sells cheese bialys. In recent years, Ozark Mountain Bagel Co., has opened in three locations, baking daily from scratch “authentic New York-style” bagels.
  • Challah — only on Friday’s at Stone Mill Bakery 2600 N Gregg Ave, Fayetteville. Briar Rose Bakery & Deli, 28 E. Main St, Farmington has challah on some Fridays. Whole Foods carries challah toward the end of the week as well.
  • LoxSam’s Clubs, with several locations in Northwest Arkansas, carries lox most of the time.
  • The Temple Shalom Gift Shop has a large selection of Judaica. Contact the Temple Office for information.
